This one goes out to the one(s) I love...

February came with us looking out our window and seeing this:

Texas doesn't see a lot of snow, and so they are NOT prepared for it.  For some reason, they think that dumping sand and dirt on the road will get rid of the snow and ice, (I guess no one gave them the salt memo) so everything kind of shuts down for a while.  One snow day turned into two, then three, then four.  Then the weekend came.  By day six we were going STIR CRAZY.  So, we had to get creative.  Some of the things we did:  we made popcorn, we watched movies, we played games.  We baked.  A LOT.  But some of the other fun things we did were crafts.  Lots of crafts, and got ready for Valentine's Day for the girls' schools.  I finished my Valentine balls that I started:

Here's a valentine that Camie made for her class mates.  She really liked doing it.

Despite the FRIGID temperatures (we're talking teens here), Maddie kept wanting to go out and play.  So I had to bundle her up as best I could.

This is a random picture of Emma after church one day with a cute outfit on.  I realized that I haven't been taking any pictures of her in her cute clothes.

One of the things we did to occupy ourselves was we made heart brownies for the girl's teachers.  Maddie decided to give herself a makeover with some of her eye shadow before we decorated them.

These are Maddie's valentines we made.  One other thing we did was melt down all their old crayons and make new homemade ones to give to her class.  She found a catalog from the Paper Source store and wanted to make "disguised" valentines, so we did.

When the kids finally went back to school, Maddie had her Valentine's party.  It was filled with sugar and happiness.

Then I helped Camie make her Valentine's box.  It was so much fun!  She really got into it.  She pasted the chocolates on her homemade valentines for her friends.  I made a small bouquet of "calla lillies" to give to their teachers.  The dalmatian was from our babysitter, Sarah, next door.

Another view of the Valentine box.

We've LOVED February!
P.S.  On one of the snow days, Camie and Maddie went outside and used buckets and a plastic cheerleading megaphone to make a "snow castle."  I was very impressed with their ingenuity!
